Cash For Gold
What We Offer - Cash For Gold
For the convenience of our clients we offer cash for gold.
Selling jewelry can be emotional and confusing. We do our best to make our client’s feel comfortable and educate them in this area. At Galina Fine Jewelers we offer a full explanation and a break down of what our client’s jewelry value is. The question we’re asked the most is: “How much is my jewelry worth?” The answer is never too simple because there are different ways the jewelry can be evaluated.
Appraised value for insurance purposes is always slightly exaggerated in case the jewelry piece needs to be custom-made (custom work is always more expensive due to extra labor), and in case the client decides to replace the missing or broken piece in the most expensive jewelry store (different jewelry stores have different overheads – hence the price of the same kind of jewelry may be higher or lower). New jewelry VS used jewelry: Most of the time used jewelry, just like anything else, looses retail value due to wear and tear.
Retail. Wholesale. Scrap.
Jewelry, just like anything else, is in fashion or not. If your jewelry is out of style or beyond repair, it usually gets melted, and the dealers call it “scrap”. Scrap value is based on ever-changing precious metals market value. Diamonds also have a wholesale prices chart that all jewelers refer to. For durability most jewelry is made from gold that is not pure (from 37.5% (9k) to 58.5% (14k) to 75% (18K), etc.), therefore you are only getting paid for the content of actual gold in your jewelry. Also, since it’s a service, dealers take a small percentage of the total value of your gold melt as a commission).
